Fifty years ago, Sargent Shriver inspired us to recognize that everyone deserves the right to equal access to justice and opportunity whatever their circumstances. Today, the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law is one of the nation's leading advocates for people living in poverty.

Please join Shriver Center Board Member Jill Schuker at a special event to celebrate the Shriver Center and its 50-year legacy of fighting poverty. Featured speakers will include: Tim Shriver, Chairman, Special Olympics; Al Hunt, journalist and commentator; Tom Oliphant, author and commentator and; Mark Shields, columnist and commentator.

The Shriver Center works in the trenches—in courtrooms and legislatures across the country, as well as in Washington—in pursuit of a national agenda to advance justice and opportunity for all. Our dedicated attorneys are the living legacy of Sargent Shriver’s life’s work, with victories hard-fought and won through intense effort.

Please join us as we mark our 50th year and share how we all can propel the Shriver Center’s essential work forward for the next 50 years and beyond.

This special event will take place on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, from 6-8 pm, at the home of Ambassador Sally Shelton-Colby in Washington, DC (address available upon registration).

Tickets are available for $175 online ($100 tax deductible) and by mail by May 5, 2017. Please make checks payable to the Shriver Center at 50 E. Washington, Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60602.

To RVSP, register online, by mail, or by calling (312) 368-1073.

Justice
Dinners

Sargent Shriver famously and frequently posed two questions to everyone from his closest friends to his newest acquaintance: "What have you done today to make this a better world? What will you do tomorrow?"

In celebration of our 50th year, the Shriver Center hopes to spark broadened conversation about poverty and inequality through Justice Dinners to be held across the country.

Sponsor

Connect. Engage. Act.

Justice Dinners are an opportunity for Shriver Center ambassadors, friends, and supporters to gather for intimate and engaging conversations on poverty, racial justice, and policy solutions that can be implemented at the federal, state, and local level.

Hosted by Shriver Center supporters, the 50 Justice Dinners to be held across the country in 2017 will generate ideas, expand networks, and enlist allies for justice and opportunity.
